One Step Pedi Gel FAQs

One Step Pedi Gel FAQs

FAQs

NO BASE, NO TOPCOAT! Simply prep the cuticles and toenails, then apply contact primer, and
you're ready to go! Apply two coats (with a 60-second cure) for a beautiful, long-lasting pedicure done
in minutes.

CAN I USE THIS ON HANDS?
It is not as durable as our long-lasting 16 gels and is more likely to chip, as fingernails endure more wear and tear. It is
designed to enable technicians to complete an express or add-on service at their table.

HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT IT TO LAST ON TOENAILS?
We have tested it extensively and found that it lasts for more than 4 weeks without wear. You could offer this service
every second or third appointment, depending on your client’s nail cycle.

I HAVE A CLIENT WHOSE NAILS ARE QUITE YELLOW. IS THIS A PROBLEM?
First, check that there is no infection. If no infection is present and the nails are just very yellow, we recommend using
three coats of color or a rubber base with the color, especially for light colors, pastels, and white. I used the rubber
base called "Sugar," and it worked really well.

I HAVE A CLIENT WHOSE NAILS ARE VERY RIDGED. CAN I PAINT DIRECTLY OVER THE RIDGES?
For a professional finish, I would file the ridges down and use 1-2 coats of rubber base to level the surface. Then buff
the base to achieve a smooth surface before continuing with 2 coats of One Step Pedi Gel.

I HAVE A CLIENT WHO PICKS THE GEL POLISH OFF HER TOES, AND HER NAILS ARE QUITE THIN WITH MESSY
FREE EDGES. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
I would use Builder Gel (rather than a rubber base, as it has a lower heat point and is harder, allowing you to recreate
free edges if needed). Apply it in 2 thin layers, ensuring you use your lamp on the low heat setting, as thin nails often
feel heat spikes. File or buff to smooth and shape before completing with One Step Gel Color.

IF I USE THIS WITHOUT A BASE COAT, WILL IT STAIN THE NAIL?
If you're concerned about the client’s nail being porous, use a thin coat of rubber base before applying One Step Gel
Polish.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SOAK OFF?
After buffing the nail to break the seal, One Step Gel has a 10-15 minute soak-off time.

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO REMOVE ONE STEP FROM TOES?
There are a few methods for removal. I prefer to use soak-off forms and leave them on until the gel can easily be
scraped off the nail. Alternatively, I have used my nail file or drill to remove the gel.

WHAT IS THE CURE TIME FOR ONE STEP GEL?
It is 60 seconds.

CAN I USE A BASE COAT?
Yes, you can, but it’s only necessary if your client’s toenails are not perfect. Please refer to the specific answers in the
FAQs below.

CAN I USE A TOP COAT?
Yes, you can, but it’s only necessary if you are adding nail art on top of the One Step Gel for extra durability.

CAN I USE THIS OVER EXTENSIONS?
Yes, you can, but it’s not recommended as it does not wear as long.

CAN I DO NAIL ART ON TOP OF IT?
Yes, you can. We recommend adding a top coat to your client’s nails if you choose to add art for extra durability.

MY GEL IS NOT CURING PROPERLY OR IS WRINKLING. HOW DO I PREVENT THIS?
Remember that One Step Gel has a 60-second cure time. To prevent wrinkling, apply thinner layers, which will ensure
the gel is fully cured.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE SDS SHEETS?
The link is available on the website.

DO I APPLY ONE STEP GEL BEFORE OR AFTER A PEDICURE?
Always apply any type of gel before water to avoid the gel peeling off. So gel first then into the Mani
or Pedi.
