Why/When would I use a rubber base?
Rubber base gel, is a versatile product in nail care and can be used in various ways to achieve different effects and benefits. Here are some popular ways to use rubber base gel:

As a Base Coat for Your Gel Manicures

  • Nail Prep: Start by prepping your nails (cleaning, filing, and pushing back cuticles). And apply Contact primer.
  • Application: Apply a thin layer of rubber base gel to the natural nail. Cure under a UV or LED lamp for 60s.
  • Benefits: It creates a flexible and strong foundation, enhancing the adhesion of subsequent gel polish layers and preventing chipping.
  • Smooth Surface: It creates a smooth surface for applying gel polish or other nail art.

To Add Strength to the Nail

  • Nail Strengthening: Apply the rubber base gel to natural nails to add strength and durability. This is particularly useful for weak or brittle nails.
  • Layering: Build up the product in layers, curing each layer separately. This can help achieve the desired thickness and strength.
  • You can finish this up by top coating curing and applying cuticle oil.

Nail Art Base

  • Smooth Base for Art: Use rubber base gel as a foundation for nail art designs. Its smooth and even surface is ideal for intricate designs.
  • Embedding Art: Small embellishments or glitter can be embedded in the rubber base gel before curing.

As a Colour

The perfect base colour: Rubber base gel can also be used to create a simple nude/pink base colour on top of nail enhancements. For example, after applying acrylic or poly gel, you can apply one of our coloured rubber bases to the refined nail to create the perfect smooth and simple base for French tips and nail art.

Easy Removal

Rubber base is a simple soak-off product, meaning less filing and less time removing.  Simply break the seal with a buffer or a 180g File and use nail removal wraps to soak off the product. Follow up with cuticle oil and a Hand crème to hydrate the skin.

Tips for Best Results:

Proper Curing: Always follow the instructions for curing times to ensure the gel sets properly. Rubber base gel requires a 60-second cure time.

  • Thin Layers: Apply in thin layers to prevent bulkiness and ensure a smooth, even application.
  • Maintenance: Regularly fill in and maintain nails to keep them looking fresh and to prevent lifting.

Rubber base gel is an excellent product for professionals, offering flexibility, strength, and versatility in various nail applications.
